In 2022 I started experimenting with ceramics and a year later… it became an obsession (my partner might argue almost a problem). I’ve been lucky enough to turn this hobby into a small business, Amelia Margot Ceramics.

Growing up I always dreamt of starting a business. To be given the opportunity to have the creative freedom to make whatever I want, be it a sculpture or a painting (or a mug!) and share it with the world was a dream.

I always remember the really special feeling of buying a bespoke item in a market stall on holiday somewhere and taking it home to use in my day-to-day life. Some of these items were more than just a souvenirs, they took me back to the place and the moment I first saw them, the smile I felt on my face when I first bought them, the food I’d just tasted, the smells in the air and the colours in the sky. My goal is to create pieces for you that tell you a story of the inspiration behind them but that also give you that exact feeling.

I began working with ceramics after the Covid-19 pandemic. I had just moved to London, from Cyprus (army daughter <3) and struggled with how fast paced the city was. Moving to London was a huge culture shock, having never lived in a city and suddenly having to fend for myself in the big wide world. Finding pottery allowed me to sit, create and be in my own thoughts again.

I hope you love these pieces as much as I do.

Milly xx
